Совокупность высокоскоростных локальных сетей, разрабатываемых ETSI для диапазонов частот: 5 ГГц (HIPERLAN/1) и 40,5-43,5 ГГц (HIPERLAN/2). Стандарт HIPERLAN/1 (EN 300 836) определяет сети со скоростью передачи информации 5 Мбит/с, а технология HIPERLAN/2 должна обеспечить построение широкополосных сетей со скоростью 54 Мбит/с и интеграцию с другими мобильными подсетями UMTS.
